This is Lars Wood’s only published paper, invited to appear in the proceedings of the first IEEE workshop on FPGAs for Custom Computing Machines in 1993. The paper is significant in that it demonstrates the expanse of FCCM computing using a non-numerical paradigm for numerical computations within a completely asynchronous optoelectronic machine. The paper is referenced as prior art for patents in the space, including one for interconnected optoelectronic FPGAs, and is considered a vision paper for FCCM, 1993.

Lars Wood is a pioneer in artificial intelligence and computational microwave integrated circuits. View Lars’ machine learning patents 1990 - 2022. Lars is developer of the patented Octopus Neural System (ONS) Lifelong Learning AI as a Service and its intelligent microwave integrated circuits.
